Early fishing days in Bicol area. Wilmar Fishing was established.
Mega fishing group relocated to Zamboanga and began supplying fresh fish to Manila-based canneries. The company was renamed Mega Fishing Corporation.
Mega Global began to build the Ayala canning plant in Zamboanga City which became operational in the year 2000, named Ayala Seafoods Corporation.
Mega decided to enter the canned sardines business. Mega Sardines brand was launched, with the proposition of “freshest sardines in a can” because of its trademark catching-to-canning process.
The Talisayan canning plant was built, the company’s second plant in Zamboanga.
Mega Sardines launched “Tatak Barko, Tatak Sariwa” campaign, its first-ever marketing campaign featuring Cesar Montano.
Mega Sardines was the first brand to offer sardines in easy-tear pouch.
Launched several innovations in the fishing and canning industry, eventually giving Mega Sardines an edge versus its competitors

The company was renamed as Mega Global Corporation to reflect its quest for globalization
Mega Sardines became the No. 1 Sardines brand in the Philippines based on AC Nielsen Retail Audit 2015. Mega Global entered the tuna category with the launch of Mega Tuna.
Mega Global entered the canned fruits and vegetable category with Mega Prime Quality. Mega Global launched new projects in fishing, canning, and distribution to cement its market leadership.
Mega Global entered a new category with the launch of Mega Prime Choices Sauces and Boodles line
We formally opened the Mega Global Distribution Center in Valenzuela.
We launched the first-ever National Sardines Day on Nov 24 and the Mega Bigay Sustansya Nutrition Program.
Marked Mega Global’s 45th year in the industry.
Mega Sardines remained to be the No. 1 Sardines Brand in the Philippines, based on Kantar WorldPanel 2020.
Culminating the hard work throughout the history of Mega Global Corporation and laying the foundations for even more opportunities.
Mega Global launched Primo Sparkling Juice, its first offering under the beverage category. They also launched Mega Premium line that initially offered Frozen Seafoods.
Mega Global officially launched MegamartPH, its direct online store selling Mega Products.
