Tuna Sisig

This canned tuna recipe is a healthier version of the regular sisig. Here’s how you can make it:

Ingredients:

  • 155 g Mega Tuna Hot and Spicy
  • 1 green chili, sliced into quarters
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 ½ tbsp. mayonnaise
  • 3 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 2 tsp. soy sauce
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 1 tbsp. oil
  • 1 tbsp. calamansi juice

Directions:

  1. Start by frying the onions, garlic, and chili slices in a skillet with oil on medium heat. Cook the vegetables for 2 minutes. Sprinkle them with salt and pepper.
  2. Next, prepare the canned tuna. Drain it, then place the flakes in a small bowl and pour soy sauce and calamansi juice over them.
  3. It is time to cook the tuna with the vegetables. Pour the marinated tuna into the skillet and stir everything for 1 minute under high heat. After 1 minute, add the mayonnaise.
  4. Once the tuna sisig has a creamy texture, turn off the heat, and serve (preferably in a sizzling plate).

Cheesy Sardines with Lemon Sauce

Your family will never know that you crammed in the kitchen with this lemony Spanish sardine recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 155g Mega Sardines in Spanish Style
  • ½ cup plain yogurt
  • 2 cups breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • ½ cup parmesan cheese
  • 1 tbsp. dried basil
  • 1 tbsp. lemon juice
  • 2 tbsps. butter
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 1 tbsp. soy sauce

Directions:

  1. First, flake sardines in a small bowl and then mix it with the yogurt. Once a paste is formed, wet your hands and grab portions of the mixture into your hands and form them into balls one by one. Set the sardine balls on a plate.
  2. Second, prepare for the breading. Do this by first mixing parmesan cheese, dried basil, and breadcrumbs on a shallow plate. Prepare two other shallow plates and place the beaten egg mixture in one while the other plate will have salt and pepper-seasoned flour.
  3. One by one, drench the sardine balls in seasoned flour, egg, and parmesan-breadcrumbs mixture. Once all the sardine balls are completely covered with breading, it is time to move on to frying. Fill a pan with olive oil and put it under high heat. Once the oil starts sizzling, drop the balls into the hot liquid and make sure they do not stick to each other. Leave them to cook for 2 minutes until golden brown. When they have this color, lay them on a plate with a paper towel.
  4. For the last step, you will be making the lemon sauce for the sardine balls to be dipped in. Place the butter, soy sauce, and lemon juice in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat the ingredients for 20 seconds in the microwave until it becomes a sauce. Serve the sauce in a bowl with the crusted sardine balls on a plate.
