Vegetable and Bacon Stir-Fry

Use the power of bacon to get your kids to eat vegetables. Here’s a simple recipe that you can cook to get them to eat their veggies this Christmas!

Ingredients:

·         155g Mega Prime Green Peas

·         198g Mega Prime Pieces and Stems Mushrooms

·         1 cup carrots, cubed

·         1 cup cabbage, chopped

·         ½ cup onion, thinly sliced

·         2 cloves garlic, diced

·         1 tsp. mashed ginger

·         4 bacon slices, cubed

·         1 tbsp. soy sauce

·         1 tsp. salt

·         1 tsp. pepper

·         1 tsp. sugar

Directions:

  1. Cook the garlic, onion, and mashed ginger in oil for 3 minutes in a skillet
  2. Add the cubed bacon and cook it for 2 minutes.
  3. Mix in the mushrooms, peas, cabbage, and carrots. Cook them for 3 minutes.
  4. Add the soy sauce and sugar into all the ingredients. Stir the vegetables until they are completely coated. Remove the skillet from the heat and serve the dish.

 

Tuna and Garbanzo Stew

This canned tuna recipe is really easy to make. It’s also very tasty and flavorful so you won’t have a hard time asking your kids to eat them. 

Ingredients:

·         155g Mega Tuna Flakes in Oil

·         225g Mega Prime Garbanzos

·         2 cups tomatoes, sliced

·         ¼ tsp. dried chili pepper

·         1 tsp. salt

·         1 tsp. pepper

·         1 onion, thinly sliced

·         4 cloves garlic, diced

·         1 tbsp. oil

·         1 tbsp. freshly squeezed orange juice

·         1 ½ tsp. cumin

·         1 cup potatoes, diced

·         1 cup carrots, diced

Directions:

  1. Cook garlic and onion in a hot saucepan with oil for 3 minutes.
  2. Mix in the salt, pepper, cumin, dried chili pepper, potatoes, carrots, and garbanzo beans. Stir all the ingredients for 2 minutes.
  3. Now add the canned tomatoes, tuna pieces, and orange juice to the cooked vegetables. Let everything simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Remove from the heat and serve.

Sardine Gratin

Kids love foods with a crisp to them. This crispy Spanish sardine recipe is something they will surely keep asking for in the future!

Ingredients:

·         155g Mega Sardine in Natural Oil

·         2 cups spinach leaves

·         1 onion, thinly sliced

·         4 cloves garlic, diced

·         1 cup milk

·         ½ cup panko crumbs

·         ¼ cup flour

·         1 tsp. salt

·         1 tsp. pepper

·         1 tsp. ginger

·         2  tbsp. butter

·         1 cups water

·         1 tbsp. oil

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 232 degrees in Celsius.
  2. Make the sauce. Melt the butter in a small saucepan using low heat. Afterward, pour in the flour and slowly stir both ingredients together for 2 minutes before adding the milk. Now, bring up the heat to a boiling point. Stir all the components together until it becomes a thick sauce, and then season it with salt, pepper, and ginger. After seasoning the sauce, remove it from the heat.
  3. It is time to cook the spinach. To do this, boil water in another saucepan. Once the liquid starts bubbling, turn off the heat and then blanch the spinach leaves in the pan for 10 seconds. After 20 seconds, remove all of the vegetables into a plate
  4. Heat the oil in a skillet and then drop the onion and garlic in it. Stir the vegetables for 1 minute before adding the sardine pieces. Now, cook everything for 1 more minute and then place all the 3 ingredients on a plate.
  5. Now, get a baking pan and place the sardine mixture in the bottom as a first layer. Then, put the sauce over the fish pieces before adding the blanched spinach.
  6. Top the layered dish with panko crumbs.
  7. Place the baking pan in the oven for 15 minutes before serving. 

 

Fruit Salad Float

Christmas is not complete without fruit salad. Add something new to it by turning it into Fruit Salad Float. Here’s how you can do so:

Ingredients:

·         850g Mega Prime Fruit Cocktail

·         4 cups all-purpose cream

·         1 cup sweetened condensed milk

·         1 mango, peeled and cut into cubes

·         7 graham crackers

Directions:

  1. Mix fruit cocktail, all-purpose cream, mango cubes, and sweet condensed milk in a small bowl.
  2. Place graham crusts on an 8×8 container and then top it with the cream mixture.
  3. Leave the fruit cocktail float in the freezer for 4 hours until the cream has solidified.
